Heritage Sandy Springs Museum - On loan from the Georgia Southern University Museum, “A Land Nearby” features photography of Georgia's Barrier Islands by Dr. Curt Hames Jr. From the Heritage Sandy Springs collection, “The Getaway” explores the different ways the people of Sandy Springs have made a "getaway" and some of the places they visited. Whether through writing, art or music, or taking a horse, motorcycle, automobile or ferry, we all dream of "getting away" at one time or another. “Sandy Springs: Land and People” is a permanent exhibit which tells the story of the community from pre-historic time until the present through pictures, photographs, artifacts and maps.
