Don Carter State Park This is Georgia's newest state park. Just a few miles north of Gainesville, Georgia, it just opened in July 2013. Located on the scenic shores of Lake Sydney Lanier, this 1,316-acre park has a wide lake swimming area. Enjoy fishing, boating, lake swimming, hiking, biking, picnicking and so much more!
