"Ruins to Rapids" Full Moon Hike - 12/2 & 12/31/2009 at 7-9 pm
This 1.5-mile guided hike is moderately difficult and visits the Civil War-era textile mill ruins of New Manchester and follows the lovely rapids (up to class IV) of Sweetwater Creek. The hike will continue if it is overcast but will be cancelled if raining. Bring a flashlight and sturdy shoes. No children under 6 or dogs please. $1-$2 plus $5 parking.

Representatives from area churches, businesses, and non-profit organizations will be in attendance at their Christmas themed displays and exhibits. Choirs and musical groups from area churches and schools will provide the entertainment for the day. Children can have their pictures taken with Santa Claus. Children of all ages will have the opportunity to ride Morrow’s “Lil General” Train and to play in a “Winter Wonderland” made up of REAL SNOW! Panola Mountain Volunteers: Hands On Atlanta - 12/12/2009 at 9 am - 12 pm
Volunteers are invited to lend a hand with projects to improve the park's recreational and environmental resources. Removing invasive plants improves native habitat, while grounds maintenance (such as spreading woodchip mulch along trails) will assist with erosion control. This is shovel and clippers work, so wear gloves, jeans and long sleeves.

Advanced Fly Fishing Clinic - 12/26/2009 at 10 am - 12 pm
