We will practice casting techniques and learn about the gear and tackle that will help in your journey for catching fish on a fly rod. Bring your own rod (some available for loan), reel, and tackle. Owl Prowl

Join park rangers on this nighttime excursion on the white trail, and listen and watch for Barred Owls, Great Horned Owls, and the Screech Owl. Meet at the Interpretive Center; the hike will follow the White Trail to Jack's Hill area and back, which is about 2 miles round trip. Wear comfortable clothes, dress for the weather, and bring a flash light. Register in advance.

"Bark in the Park" Dog Hike

Georgia Philharmonic presents "The Magical World of Movies"

November Night Hikes at Red Top

Come explore the dark. Learn about creatures of the night as we look and listen to the nightlife of Red Top. Meet at 50 Lodge Road for this family-friendly hike. Plan for a two hour walk; trails vary, about 1.5 - 2 miles. Remember your water and flashlight, and check the weather to dress appropriately. Hike will be canceled in event of inclement weather.

The Harvest Hunt

Gather a group of friends for a day of post-Thanksgiving sleuthing on this self-guided scavenger hunt throughout historic Oakland Cemetery! The Harvest Hunt will take place on Thanksgiving weekend. No reservations are required to participate, simply purchase your Harvest Hunt packet at the Visitors Center & Museum Shop (open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and follow cryptic clues to solve riddles. The Harvest Hunt packet includes one self-guided tour map ($5 value) that can be used on return visits. All proceeds from The Harvest Hunt benefit Historic Oakland Foundation's mission to preserve, restore, enhance, and share Oakland Cemetery. Harvest Hunt packets can only be purchased Nov. 24-26. Teams who get all the answers correct will be entered into a drawing for select prizes. To be eligible to win, completed answer sheets must be returned to the Visitors Center by 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 26. Be sure to complete the contact form in your Harvest Hunt packet to ensure you'll be contacted if you win.
