Fourth of July Golf Cart Parade - 7/4/2009 at 9 am - 12 pm
Peachtree City, GA is located about 20 miles south of Atlanta. The city was designed around 90 miles of golf cart paths. Most residents in the city own a golf cart even though many don't golf. A lot of the paths in the city run through the forest. Residents shop, dine and run errands in their golf carts. A typical day at the local high school has hundreds of golf carts in the parking lot driven by students. On the 4th of July, thousands of families and businesses decorate their golf carts and attend the annual parade. The carts line the streets and many of the parade entrants are drving carts. "Ruins to Rapids" Full Moon Hike - 7/7/2009 at 8-10 pm
This 1.5-mile guided hike is moderately difficult and visits the Civil War-era textile mill ruins of New Manchester and follows the lovely rapids (up to class IV) of Sweetwater Creek. The hike will continue if it is overcast but will be cancelled if raining. Bring a flashlight and sturdy shoes. No children under 6 or dogs please. $1-$2 plus $5 parking.

This 1.5-mile guided hike is moderately difficult and visits the Civil War-era textile mill ruins of New Manchester and follows the lovely rapids (up to class IV) of Sweetwater Creek. The hike will continue if it is overcast but will be cancelled if raining. Bring a flashlight and sturdy shoes. No children under 6 or dogs please. $1-$2 plus $5 parking.
