Celebrate "AMERICA: Yesterday, Today, and Forever" at the City of Douglasville 4th of July parade. Saturday, July 4 at 10 a.m. Parade will travel west down Church Street. AJC Peachtree Road Race - 7/4/15
The AJC Peachtree Road Race has distinguished itself as one of the premier Fourth of July traditions in Atlanta with its festive atmosphere, scenic city course and beloved finisher's T-shirt. Organized by the Atlanta Track Club, the event attracts runners of all ages and paces eager to take part in the Fourth of July tradition. Start your July 4th celebrations off right by joining 60,000 others to run or walk the country's largest road race and world's largest 10K! Georgia Aquarium's Red, White & View - 7/4/15 at 7:30pm
Celebrate Fourth of July with your family at Georgia Aquarium's Red, White & View to get the best view of Centennial Olympic Park's firework show! Bring your blankets or lawn chairs and enjoy family fun on the Aquarium's parking garage rooftop. Red, White & View will begin at 7:30 p.m. with games and activities followed by the firework show beginning approx. at 9:40 p.m. Desserts and beverages will be provided. Guests may bring personal coolers. Fireworks, tents, alcohol and pets are not permitted. Tickets are only $15 for children and $20 for adults and seniors. 4th of July Fireworks Hike - 7/4/15 at 8-10pm
Slow down this July 4th and join a ranger for a leisurely stroll to the top of Panola Mountain. As the sun sets we will enjoy a panoramic view of Stone Mountain and Atlanta's Independence Day Celebrations from a distance. Bring water, bug spray, and a flashlight for the walk back down the mountain. Participants must register in advance. Costs are $10 per person and $5 parking fee. July 4th Concert and Fireworks - 7/4/15 at 4-10pm
Enjoy live music and fireworks at Cauble Park. Live music starts at 4 p.m. The Paul Hand Band will take the stage at 5:30 p.m. leading up headliners "Flashback" at 7 p.m. Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:30 p.m. Admission to the concert is free. Tables are available to purchase for the July 4 concert. Tables are $50 each for City of Acworth residents and $70 for non-residents. With the table, you will receive chairs and one parking pass. This parking pass will allow you to park at Cauble Park as long as spots remain available. Parking at Cauble Park is by special pass only on July 4, but you are not guaranteed a parking spot at Cauble Park with this pass so please plan on arriving early. Fireworks will illuminate the skies above the King and Queen buildings in Sandy Springs as the community comes together in celebration of our nation's independence. Join instructors on the George H. Sparks Reservoir for an afternoon of Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP). 2015 Summer Film Intensive: Camp for Teens - 7/6-7/10, 7/13-7/17, 7/20-7/24 & 7/27-7/31/15 at 10am-3pm
The Artizen Company's four-week hands-on filmmaking program, housed in a historic 100-year-old facility, where participants develop and produce an original, festival-worthy, short film with industry professionals. The program is led by Co-founder and Artistic Director, Aimee McCoy. Teens will attend workshops with guest instructors, that will kickstart their own journey into independent filmmaking. The program will culminate in a dailies screening for family and friends, followed by a larger premier screening of the finished film in the fall. The program is open to highly motivated youths age 12-18. Through concentrated teamwork and leadership opportunities, participants will not only have professional work to show for their efforts, but also increase their knowledge and skills.
