Laid Back Festival

Laid Back Festival returns to Atlanta on Saturday, October 14, 2017, to Verizon Amphitheatre. Headlining the festival this year in Atlanta is Lynyrd Skynyrd along with The Gregg Allman Band featuring Devon Allman performing his father's last album 'Southern Blood" in its entirety plus Allman Brothers Band favorites. They will be joined by Bishop Gunn and Jaimoe's Jasssz Band.

In 2015, Gregg Allman and his longtime manager Michael Lehman partnered with Live Nation to create the inaugural Laid Back Festival. Named after Gregg Allman's classic 1973 solo debut, Laid Back Festival is much more than just a concert. Laid Back Festival is an extraordinary one-day event that also celebrates diverse American food and drink with regional restaurants, food trucks, breweries, wineries, and other artisans represented at each festival stop.

With the passing of festival co-founder, Gregg Allman on May 27, 2017, the Laid Back Festival will continue in 2017 In The Spirit Of Gregg Allman.

Run Like Hell 5K

Join Historic Oakland Foundation for the 10th annual Run Like Hell 5K! The largest cemetery run in the country, Run Like Hell is one of Atlanta's favorite neighborhood 5K fundraisers. Run Like Hell is a Peachtree Road Race qualifier. The race begins at Lion Square and covers several areas of Oakland Cemetery, including the historic Jewish grounds, Confederate section, new Beaumont Allen Greenhouse, Hogpen Corner, Knit Mill, and Roger's Hill, as well as the Memorial Drive Greenway to the state capitol. The keyhole course is entirely paved and gently rolling with soft turns, a much faster course than previous years! Walkers, leashed dogs, and strollers are welcome. The race closes out at 1,600 participants, so be sure to register early!

Harvest on the Hooch Tasting Event in the Unity Garden

Festival on Ponce

The ninth annual Fall Festival on Ponce hosted by The Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces will be held on Saturday, October 14 and Sunday, October 15, 2017, in Atlanta's historic Olmsted Linear Park. Designed by one of America's most celebrated landscape architects, Fredrick Olmsted, Sr., the park was carefully restored by the Olmsted Linear Park Alliance and will feature over 125 displays of local and regional fine art and crafts during the annual two-day event. Festival goers can also enjoy local gourmet food trucks, beverages, a children's area, live, acoustic music and more. The event is free to attend, open to all ages and dogs are welcome.
