BB&T Atlanta Open - 7/29 - 8/2/15
The Emirates Airline US Open Series is the five-week summer tennis season that links seven North American hard-court tournaments to the final Grand Slam of the year, the US Open. The series showcases 200 of the game's top players competing for more than $40 million in prize money. The Emirates Airline US Open Series enables tennis fans to see the world's best players in action from coast to coast. Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray and Andy Roddick are among the men who have captured the Series crown, while the women's champions include Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova, Kim Clijsters, Ana Ivanovic and Caroline Wozniacki. Chattahoochee River Country Music Festival - 7/29 - 8/2/15
Join us for the Chattahoochee River Country Music Festival - the world's largest country music festival - featuring 15-18 national artists. Enjoy all the exciting activities. We will have one of the largest Midway Carnivals in North Georgia. Activities include a BBQ Competition, a four-acre kid's play area with inflatables, and horseback riding on 15 miles of beautifully wooded trails. Join instructors on the George H. Sparks Reservoir for an afternoon of Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP). This program is intended for anyone 16 and over who can swim and is interested in SUP, and will include an introduction to the sport as well as a recreational tour. Once in a Blue Moon Hike - 7/31/15 at 8-10pm
Once in a blue moon... there's a Blue Moon. And what better place to view it than from the top of Panola Mountain! Join this ranger-led hike to watch the sun set behind the Atlanta skyline as the full, blue moon rises. We will end with a campfire and s'mores. Must register in advance. Old Soldiers Day Parade & Race - 8/1/15 at 7am-12noon
Join us for the Old Soldiers Day Parade and Road Race. The 5K and 10K road race rolls through town and finishes before the downtown ceremonies and parade that recognizes the living memory of all veterans of war. Along with the program and parade, this celebration also features floats, bands, entertainment, children's activities and prizes.
