This winner of the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Off-Broadway Musical, is a charming love story and laugh-out-loud musical that has it all-an unlikely hero, his beautiful girlfriend, a corrupt New Jersey mayor and two guys who play…well, everyone else…bullies, mobsters, old ladies, and stiletto-wearing back-up singers. Melvin Ferd the Third wants to clean up Tromaville, the most polluted town in New Jersey (just off Exit 13B on the Turnpike). Foiled by the mayor's bullies, Melvin is dumped into a vat of radioactive toxic waste, only to reemerge as The Toxic Avenger, New Jersey's first superhero. Snow Mountain - 2/7 - 2/28/16 - Call for hours
Snow Mountain continues to delight families with the region's only snow park featuring more than 20 snow tubing slides. Situated on what is commonly known as the "Laser Lawn," the snow park features tubing runs – including the Avalanche Alley family tube ride and the Snow Zone area where younger kids can tube, build the ultimate snowman and create snow angels or throw snowballs at the snowball shooting gallery. After playing in the snow, warm up at the crackling bonfires, roast marshmallows and enjoy s'mores. Vehicle entry to the park is $15 for a one-day permit or $40 for an annual permit. The City of Roswell, Georgia is proud to host the Annual Roswell Roots festival every February to celebrate Black History Month. Roswell Roots is the largest and most comprehensive Black History celebration in Georgia and features a variety of art exhibits, history and cultural events. Fernbank Museum of Natural History will premiere BBC Earth's next world-class nature film Wild Africa in its five-story IMAX® Theatre Friday, Jan. 8. Atlanta Campaign Course - 2/8, 2/15, 2/22 & 2/29/16 at 7-9pm
During the early days of May 1864, the Federal armies of Major General William T. Sherman entered Georgia, and began moving toward Atlanta. General Joseph E. Johnston and the Army of Tennessee attempted to thwart their advance, and a campaign of maneuver resulted. This course will cover the military action, from the opening engagements near Tunnel Hill, to the September fall of Atlanta. The course fee is $69. Join us for a strenuous, 3 mile night hike to the beautiful east side of the park where we will hike to the "Indian Cave" and climb the East Ridge to view the Atlanta skyline.
