Early Morning Lake Paddle - 5/27/17 at 7-8:30am
Join us for a peaceful early morning paddle on the Sparks Reservoir (canoe or kayak) as we watch for birds and paddle past the new Yurt Village and campground. Open to anyone 18 or over who can swim and children 6 or over who can swim and are accompanied by an adult. $20 fee includes boat, PFD, and paddle. $5 parking fee.

Macro-invertebrate Investigation - 5/27/17 at 10am-1pm
Come down to the riverside, at the base of the New Manchester ruins, to look up close and personal at some of the macroscopic creatures that are essential to life in and around Georgia's waterways. This event is open to all ages. If you would like to help look for critters, please wear close toed water shoes or boots. Free fun event! $5 parking fee.

Snakes Alive - 5/27/17 at 2-3pm
Join Park Manager David Jordan in this up-close hour featuring live, non-venomous snakes. We will learn all about our local snakes, including the venomous ones, as well as the natural history of snakes and all about their behavior and senses. Meet at the Visitor's Center. Robot Revolution: Design-Build Challenges with LEGO Robotics - 5/29 - 6/2/17
In this camp, participants will learn the basics of LEGO Robotics (or build on the knowledge they already have). Then they'll use their skills to build robots that can take on real-world problems - both those posed by campMODA instructors and those that campers find important and inspiring. Campers will learn to adopt design and engineering mindsets as they work through the complexities of real-world challenges. They'll brainstorm robotic solutions, design and build prototypes, test their creations, and refine them based on the results they get. Along the way, they'll learn principles of design, engineering, and robotics, while also learning to code with Common Palette block coding. Campers will present their work to parents and families at the end of the week. This camp is for young designers ages 8-12 years old. Cost is $495 per child.
