Archery (Either Sex): BulletCowhouse Unit; Sept. 13- Sept. 29, Oct. 5-7 and Oct. 12-16, sign in. BulletPocket Unit: Sept. 13- Oct. 10, Foot traffic only off paved road, No dogs, Sign-In/out required.

Primitive weapons (Either sex): Cowhouse Unit; Oct. 1-4, check-In. Oct. 9-11, sign in.

Firearms (Buck only): Cowhouse Unit; Oct. 18-19, Oct. 25-28, sign in.

Black Oystercatcher at Okefenokee NWRFirearms Unit (Either Sex): BulletCowhouse Unit; Nov. 6-8, Check-In - Nov. 26-30, Sign in and Dec. 6-9, check-in.
BulletSuwannee Canal Unit: Oct. 24-25; Quota 30 - First come-dirst serve. Permit fee and check-in-/out required.
BulletSuwannee Canal Unit: Wheelchair Hunters Only; Oct. 24-25, Quota 10; First come-dirst serve. Permit fee and check-in-/out required.

Small Game Firearms - Cowhouse Unit (Quail, Rabbit, & Squirrel Only): Aug. 15- Sept. 29, Oct. 5- Nov. 4, Nov. 9- Feb. 28. Pointing dogs allowed on quail hunts only. No furbearer season. Feral hogs may be taken during small game dates after Oct. 31. Sign in at Dixon Memorial WMA and at refuge Cowhouse kiosk if on refuge property.

Turkey - Cowhouse Unit; Mar. 21- May 15. In accordance with Dixon Memorial WMA regulations. Sign-In at Dixon Memorial WMA or at refuge Cowhouse kiosk if on refuge property.
Special Regulations
NOTE: Alligator hunting is prohibited on the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge.

Cassin's Auklet at Okefenokee NWRSuwannee Canal Unit - Chesser Island for wheelchair hunters only. Wheelchair hunters must provide a Quota Hun Physicians Statement Form upon check-in, which is located on the refuge website at www.fws.gov/okefenokee/hunting. Shotguns with slugs or muzzleloaders only. Shooting hours close at noon. Hunt is first come-first serve and limited to the first 30 hunters. 10 additional slots are reserved for wheelchair hunters. Permit required; Apply by Aug.31. All selected hunters will be charged a $15 permit fee. Hunters may line up for check in no earlier than 4 am. A special refuge tag will be provided for up to 2 harvested deer upon check-out. Harvested deer do not count towards state bag limit. No dogs allowed. Check in/out required.

Cowhouse Island Unit - Foot and bicyle traffic only. No dogs allowed except pointing dogs for hunting quail. Sin in/out at Dixon Memorial WMA, and at refuge cowhouse kiosk if on refuge property.

Pocket Unit - Foot traffic only off paved roads. No dogs allowed. No alligaor hunting. Sign in/out required.

Hunter Education Courses at Okefenokee NWR
- Residents and non-residents born on or after Jan. 1, 1961 and are 12 years old or older must successfully complete a hunter education course prior to purchasing a season hunting license to hunt outside their own land. To register for a course, sign up at www.gohuntgeorgia.com/education.

The Okefenokee Swamp is located in Ware, Charlton, and Clinch Counties, Georgia and Baker County, Florida.

There are five entrances to the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge:
East Entrance - Camp Cornelia, Suwannee Canal (USFWS).
Secondary East Entrance - Kingfisher Landing (USFWS).
West Entrance - Stephen C. Foster State Park (USFWS and State of Georgia).
Secondary West Entrance - Suwannee River Sill (USFWS).
North Entrance - Okefenokee Swamp Park (Non-profit organization).
