2016 Hello Summer Festival - 5/28/16 at 9am-7pm
The Hello Summer Festival celebrates the arrival of summer to the Georgia coast with music, fun, food, arts and crafts. Back by popular demand, world famous Jimmy Buffettt/Beach Boys Tribute band, The Landsharks, takes the stage at 3 p.m. for a free concert. Bring your beach chairs, blankets, and refreshments. We will also help celebrate the second birthday of the Georgia Radio Museum, as well as the 100th Anniversary of the National Park Service. Gray's Reef National Marine Sanctuary, Georgia's amazing underwater park will have an exhibit at the festival, and lots of tasty festival food. We just added a new attraction. It's Lew-E's Comedy Circus featuring juggling stunts, comedy magic, audience participation, and high energy fun. Three free family shows: 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and 12 Noon on the Gilman Park stage. War of Jenkins' Ear - 5/28 - 5/30/16 at 10am-4pm
Wormsloe will commemorate Georgia's role in the 1739-1748 war between Britain and Spain. A brief presentation at the Visitor Center will be followed by a walking tour of the site. The program will also include military drills and black powder weapons demonstrations. There will be 4 cannon firings each day. At 10 AM, 11 AM, 2 PM, and 3 PM. Memorial Day Commemoration and the Site's Hidden Gem - 5/30/16 at 11am-3pm
This coastal fort will present hourly Revolutionary War soldier talks and musket and cannon demonstrations. Visitors may explore the site and find its Hidden Gem. The beautiful vista from the earthen fort, over the Medway River and out through St. Catherine's Sound has a view that has changed very little over hundreds of years. Handicapped Accessible event. Jekyll Island Wine Cruise - 11/1 - 11/30/16 at 5-6:30pm - Open everyday except Monday
Come relax with us as we offer you a unique vantage point to see Historic Jekyll Island, the unspoiled marsh, and river systems while enjoying wine and hors d'oeuvres. We have partnered with Waterfront Wine & Gournet to to offer you organic grown Georgia wine created by Horse Creek Winery in Sparks, GA. Their exceptional wines are hand made on their 40 acre vineyard and are aged to perfection in genuine French Oak Barrels to bring you a taste of the South that you won't forget. While cruising, we often view many of the creatures that inhabit these waters. It's always a thrill to see dolphins, sea turtles, manatees, egrets, herons, roseate spoonbills, and osprey in their natural habitat as the day winds down and you can appreciate the beauty and the splendor of the area while sipping a lovely variety of wines. This is truly an unique experience on the Island. Must be 21 years old. Handicapped Accessible (Limited) event. Cost is $40 per person per cruise.
