US Corps of Engineers Campground Lake Sidney Lanier is well known for its recreational opportunities. The Corps operates 46 park areas around the lake providing, picnicking, campgrounds, boat launching ramps, swimming areas, group picnic shelters and hiking trails. Additional areas have been leased from the Corps and are operated as city and county parks as well as marinas.

Directions to Lake Lanier Visit Center: From I-985/Buford Take GA Hwy 20 W, from GA 400/Cumming, take GA Hwy 20 E, to North on Suwanee Dam Rd. Go 3 miles and go left on Buford Dam Rd in Buford Georgia. The Visitor Center is one mile down on the right. Make reservations at 1-877-444-6777.

Campground and Park Amenities: Campsites without hookups, restrooms, picnic tables, playground picnic shelter, boat launch ramp, swim area, free life jacket use program. There is a user fee. Pets are allowed. Primitive campground night with campsites close to the lake. The boat ramp is open all year. The campground and beach are open Apirl 1 through early September.

Directions: 400 north to Hwy. 136, turn right, turn right at stop sign, turn left before crossing the bridge. Road ends at the park.
