St. Patrick's Festival - 3/4 - 3/31/15 at 8am-8pm
The St. Patrick's Festival in Dublin takes place the entire month of March, with the main events taking place the weekend following St. Patrick's Day. The festival includes a hot air balloon fest, parade, leprechaun contest, road race, arts and crafts show and much more. You won't want to miss this family fun event! The first weekend in March is Pig in the Park BBQ Championship & Concert at the Market on Madison. St. Patrick's Pig in the Park BBQ Fest - 3/6 at 7-10pm & 3/7/15 at 10am-4pm
Get fired up in Dublin, Georgia during the St. Patrick's Pig in the Park BBQ Championship. The competition heats up as the BBQ Championship continues Saturday, March 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. as teams compete for bragging rights and cash prizes. St. Patrick's Pig in the Park BBQ Championship pits competitors against each other in three categories: ribs, pulled pork and chicken with first, second, and third place awarded in each division. Backstage Beer Garden presented by Stone Horse Tavern & Eatery located under the Market pavilion with select Budweiser products. St. Patrick's Shamrock Shootout - 3/10/15 at 7-9pm
St. Patrick's gets high flying during the St. Patrick's Shamrock Shootout when the Harlem Ambassadors play against Laurens County's best in basketball. Harlem Basketball Ambassador greats, Lade Majic and Nicholas Simpson, take the court along with the rest of the Harlem Ambassadors to battle with Dublin's local celebrities like teachers, coaches, civic officials, firefighters and former college champions. WELSHfest - 3/13 at 6-9pm & 3/14/15 at 8am-5pm
This is the only Welsh-centered festival in Georgia. It takes place every third weekend of March in Downtown Rockmart and features Welsh and local entertainment, fun and educational events, a vendors village and is great fun for the whole family. Events include a Fun Run, The Big Welsh Bike Ride on the SIlver Comet Trail, The Welsh Tea Room, The Welsh Long Bow demonstration, Welly Wanging, lessons in Welsh cooking and language, Honey Show, lectures and tours. St. Patrick's World Safari Collection Exhibit - 3/14/15 at 9am-4pm
Visitors will trek through the snow covered Artic, the steamy swamps of Florida, and the thickets of Mexico as they view rare animals from North America, Asia, Europe, and Russia with a trip through the World Safari Collection. Featuring over 130 exhibits of big game trophies, this educational collection includes a ten foot polar bear, cougar, sheep, alligator, six species of caribou, walrus, a man-eating deer from China and much more. Owned by hunting legend, Dr. J.Y. Jones, the collection highlights Dr. Jones' adventures on his expeditions to Africa and Slovakia. Conyers St. Patrick's Day Parade - 3/17/15 at 4:30-5:30pm
Join the fun in Olde Town as Conyers features its annual world's fastest growing St. Patrick's Parade at 4:30 p.m. A sea of green will flow down Center and Commercial Streets to the Olde Town Pavilion for refreshments and entertainment. At the Pavilion, enjoy refreshments, entertainment, and the crowning of the king and queen of the day's festivities. The Rotary Club of Rockdale will hold their 6th Annual .01 Mile Fun Run from the Depot to The Pointe in Olde Town following the parade. Avenue of Flags for National Former POW Recognition Day - 4/3-4/13/15 at 8am-5pm
This is the display of a multiplicity of U.S. flags usually arrayed on both sides of the principal avenue or drive that leads from the main entrance or gate into the cemetery. The Avenue of Flags cemetery and reinforces patriotism, national pride and represents a visible, bold and proud display of flags.
