7th Annual Fairview School BBQ & 1st Signature Cake Walk - 5/26/17 at 10am-6pm
Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit the restoration of the Fairview School in Cave Spring, Ga. A ticket to the Cake Walk is $5 for 3 chances to win a delicious homemade cake. Dinners are $10 and Boston Butts and slabs of ribs are $30 each. Tickets are available to purchase in-person at Last Stop Gift Shop in Rome and Blue Willow Antique Shop in Cave Spring. 1890's Day Jamboree - 5/26 at 6-10pm & 5/27/17 at 9am-10pm
The event features more than 100 food, arts and crafts vendors, live music on multiple stages, music and dance contests, beauty pageants, a parade, classic car show, and a fireworks display Saturday night. Admission is free, and all events are family-friendly. For most residents, the sign that 1890's is approaching is the display of approximately 1,200 Veteran's Memorial Flags along the roads in Ringgold. Veterans, families and admirers come from far and wide to ride through town and honor the veterans of Catoosa County who have served in almost every major American war. Handicapped Accessible event. Marble Mine Waterfall Hike - 5/27/17 at 1-3pm
The hills of James H. Floyd State Park use to house a marble mining operation in the 1960s and 1970s. Take part in a ranger-led hike to the old Marble Mine that houses a waterfall and four natural springs that feed the lakes found inside the park. Free fun event! $5 parking fee. Kayak the Shores of Red Top - 5/27 - 5/28/17 at 10:30am-12:30pm
Join us for a guided paddle along the beautiful Red Top Mountain shoreline. We'll enjoy the view, looking for signs of wildlife, and learning the history of Red Top . Bring hat, drinking water, and water shoes. Children should be age 7 and up to attend. Pre-register for this event by calling Monday-Thursday, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Costs are $25 per person and $5 parking fee. 41st Annual Spring Arts in the Park - 5/27 & 5/28/17 at 10am-5pm
Admire artwork and enjoy tasty food from over 200 exhibitors and food vendors. Arts in the Park has been recognized as one of the Top 20 Events by the Southeastern Tourism Society. Introduction to Orienteering and Compasses - 5/28/17 at 10am-1pm
Join us at the Visitor Center for an introductory course to the sport of Orienteering on our permanent course. We'll be starting at the Visitor Center, then taking a short walk to the course. Wear closed toed shoes, bring water, and wear weather appropriate clothing. Compasses will be provided for loan or can be purchased from the Visitor Center.
