Southern Appalachian Artist Guild National Juried Show - 11/5 - 11/13/09
Artists participate in a juried exhibition of 2-dimnensional and 3-dimensional works. Artwork will be chosen from submitted entries by a nationally recognized juror on the basis of creative excellence and quality of execution. All will be original works competed within the last two years.

Veterans Freedom Ride and Parade - 11/7/09 at 10:30 am
Ride sponsored by the Haralson County Veterans Association to benefit the Haralson County League-Lowe Veterans Memorial Park located on North Highway 100, Tallapoosa. Ride is 80 miles through each community and municipality in Haralson Co. lead by a special guest VIP and a full police escort. Registration begins at 9am on the day of the ride. The ride begins at 10:30am originating at the League-Lowe Veterans Park, N. Highway 100 and leads the Tallapoosa Veterans Parade through downtown Tallapoosa. Immediately thereafter, the 80 mile ride commences and at approximately 12:30 pm ends at Helton-Howland Veterans Park on US 78 where a free lunch and a music program is provided. We hope to top 300+ this year!
A memorial Tee Shirt is provided to each rider with a list of business and individual sponsors printed on the back. Additional shirts are sold to individuals. Sponsor donations are $100.

Stilesboro Chrysanthemum Show - 11/7/09 at 11 am-8 pm
Many varieties of Chrysanthemums grown by ladies of the Stilesboro Improvement Club are displayed in artistically-themed designs inside the Stilesboro Academy (1859 - National Register of Historic Places). Come Harvest Our History: Tour of Homes - 11/7 at 10 am - 4 pm & 11/8/09 at 12-4 pm
Make your plans to attend the biennial Etowah Valley Historical Society Tour of Homes. Tours begin with purchase of tickets at the 1903 gold-domed Bartow County Courthouse in downtown Cartersville. Shuttle buses will take visitors to the homes and return visitors to the courthouse. At each stop, hostesses will be available to provide historical points of interest and information about each home. $15 admission charge.
