This kit is a summary, not the law. WMAs set their own hunt dates and rules, so read the area's listing in the official 2026–2027 Georgia Hunting Seasons and Regulations guide before every hunt. Looking for a specific area? Start with our Georgia WMA map.
Common Questions
Is the WMA Hunter's Field Kit free?
Yes. Enter your email and first name and you can download the PDF right away. You also join the N-Georgia.com newsletter, and you can unsubscribe any time with one click.
What is in the Georgia WMA Hunter's Field Kit?
License types and state prices, the 2026-27 statewide deer season dates and bag limit, the hunter orange or pink rule, step-by-step WMA sign-in, harvest recording and Game Check reporting, an index of about 100 WMAs and tracts by area, the six Georgia DNR game management offices with phone numbers, and a printable scouting and hunt log.
Does the kit replace the official Georgia hunting regulations?
No. It is a summary checked against the 2026-2027 Georgia Hunting Seasons and Regulations guide and the Georgia DNR in October 2026. WMAs set their own hunt dates and rules, so always read the area's listing in the official regulations, which is the legal authority.
How soon do I have to report a deer in Georgia?
Within 24 hours, through Georgia Game Check in the Outdoors GA app, at GoOutdoorsGeorgia.com, or by calling 1-800-366-2661. On most land you also record the date and county on your Harvest Record before moving the deer.
