Our Story
From a closet full of brochures to a statewide guide
N-Georgia.com began in 1998 as a personal project of founder Sandy Earon: literally a closet full of travel brochures and a growing stack of notes on places to go and things to do around Georgia. Once the closet filled up, Sandy decided to put it all online rather than keep it to herself. The site went live in 1999, and it's been growing ever since.
What started as one person's hobby became a go-to resource: for years, N-Georgia.com has ranked among Google's top results for searches like “Georgia Recreation” and “Georgia Fun.” The name is a holdover from those early days, but despite the “N,” the site was never just about North Georgia. It covers the whole state, from the Blue Ridge Mountains down to the barrier islands of the Georgia coast.

N-Georgia.com is built around the things people actually plan trips around: state and county parks, hiking trails, waterfalls, lakes and rivers, historic sites and museums, festivals and events, farmers markets, wildlife areas, and places to stay. Every page is organized so you can browse by category: Outdoors & Trails, Destinations, Places To Stay, Things To Do, and Maps & Guides, or search for exactly what you're after.
The site leans toward the practical: real park names, real trail lengths, real addresses and phone numbers, not generic filler. That approach is what turned a personal hobby into a resource people come back to trip after trip.
