The Courthouse Square Park - Built in 1936 of Georgia white marble, the Courthouse is situated prominently in downtown Camilla with two enormous magnolia trees in front. The Courthouse Square Park is located behind the Courthouse. This lovely green space showcases the Courthouse Live Oaks, a group of 6, over 200 year old majestic Live Oak trees that are registered with the Georgia Urban Forest Council as “Landmark and Historic Trees”. Mitchell County Parks & Recreation manages more than 63 acres in parks, which include 13 baseball & softball fields, 6 community centers, a walking track and several picnic areas, 10 tennis courts, a 3,900-seat football stadium, and 2 gymnasiums.
