Canine Crossing Dog Park - Park Amenities: The Canine Crossing is South Fulton County’s first dog park. It features:Bullet 5+ acres with two fenced in play areas - over and under 25 pounds

Chattahoochee Nature Center - Park Amenities: Nature center building, nature trails, natural history education, 2 ponds, Aviary and wildlife habitat. The Chattahoochee Nature Center is an environmental education facility dedicated to aiding visitors in Natural History Education. Open seven days a week from 9 am. to 5 p.m. Admission is $1 for adults and $.50 for young people. The bookstore and gift shop offer a wide variety of items related to natural science. Cochran Mill Park - Park Amenities: Hiking, jogging and horse trails, primitive camping, wildlife habitat, waterfalls, old mill sites and pond, and restrooms. With miles of wilderness trails along diverse terrain, Cochran Mill Park is an equestrian's dream. A gravel road leads down to the open meadow from the parking lot. The trail meanders through the flat marshlands then crosses Bear Creek, with options to ride along the creek bed or experience a more hilly route. For those with the stamina for the longest ride, a magnificent waterfall awaits at the park's boundary. The large open field at Cochran Mill Park provides an ideal training location for Field Day, an amateur radio three-day contest. John Ripley Forbes Big Trees Forest Preserve - Amenities: Nature trails, tree, plant and wildlife sanctuary. The Forest is a remarkable urban forest with hilly topography featuring two creeks and a diverse middle growth forest including specimen white oak trees between 100 and 200 years old. The Forest is open sunrise to sunset, 7 days a week. There is ample free parking. Dogs on leashes are welcomed in the Forest. The Forest is a smoke-free environment. Newtown Recreation offers a wide variety of sports for many ages and interests. These include Soccer, Baseball, Lacrosse, Youth and Adult Tennis Clinics, Golf, Flag Football (Fall), Girls on the Run and Newtown Tots. As Summer tends to be a slower season, Newtown offers a Baseball League and Newtown Tots. We also offer a large range of summer camps each lasting approximately one week. The various summer camps include Soccer, Baseball, Lacrosse, All Star, Flag Football, Youth Tennis, and Golf. The Winter Season offers a healthy and active alternative for our local youth. Sandy Springs Historic Site - Park Amenities: Historic springs, historic Williams-Payne house, bandstand, gazebo, garden, farmhouse, historic milk house, walking trail and boardwalk. Located in the heart of Sandy Springs, the Sandy Springs Historic Site is the home of the natural springs for which the community was named. Also at this three acre site is the Williams-Payne House Museum, an 1870's 'plain style' farmhouse, an authentic period milkhouse, well shelter and privy. The grounds include a native Georgia garden, an historic teaching garden and a bog garden with a wooden boardwalk. The site is operated by the Sandy Springs Historic Community Foundation, a nonprofit organization. In addition to tours of the Williams-Payne House, programs include heritage lectures, storytelling festivals and the Sandy Springs Fall Festival. The brick terrace, garden room and large gazebo make a lovely setting for weddings and parties.
Daily hours at the Williams-Payne House are from 10 am to 4 pm Monday - Froday. The last tour begins at 3:30 p.m. Admission is $2 for adults, $1 for seniors, and$1.00 for children under 12.
