Young Deer Creek Park is a small Forsyth County park on Lake Lanier, off Heard Road east of GA 400. It has a sand beach with a swimming area, a boat ramp with a courtesy dock, a picnic pavilion, lakeside picnic tables and a swing set. Forsyth County runs it on land leased from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

 Young Deer Creek Park - This park is a wonderful place to enjoy with family and friends. It is well maintained. This beautiful day-use Lake Lanier park has several picnic tables with grills. Some are in the shade, while others are in the sun. All picnic tables have a lakeside view. There's a nice swingset play area for children. You can enjoy the lake's beach swimming area to cool off. See wildlife everywhere! There's plenty of bank fishing areas and boat launch with dock. Boat ramp users need a county parking pass, sold at the on-site kiosk. If you would like to have a nice group gathering, check out the Pavilion. Call the number below to rent this Pavilion. The restroom is clean and well maintained. Free entry for day use; boat ramp users need a $10 daily or $60 annual pass. Young Deer Creek Park has everything for a great time! See a video below that was all made with a FPV Quadcopter. | Phone: Forsyth County Parks and Recreation at 770-781-2215 Directions: From GA 400 take exit 16 (Pilgrim Mill) east towards Lake Lanier, take a left on Holtzclaw Rd, take a right on Chattahoochee Rd, take a right on Shady Grove Rd, take a right on Heard Rd and it will dead end into the park. The park is run by Forsyth County Parks and Recreation. Day-use areas are open 6 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. from March through October and 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. from November through February, and the boat ramp is open 24 hours. Kiosk passes are temporary and must be exchanged within seven days at the Central Park, Fowler Park or Old Atlanta Park recreation center or the Sawnee Mountain Preserve visitor center. |
