The Rock Ranch is a 1,600-acre cattle ranch located about an hour south of Atlanta in Upson County. Founded in 1989 by Chick-fil-A founder S. Truett Cathy, the property was sold in May 2022 to Steve and Marjorie Harvey, who renamed it Legacy Ranch and now operate it primarily as a youth leadership camp for ages 13-18. The Harveys have said the community can use the facility free of charge outside camp season and that they intend to bring back some family activities, but the corn maze, zip lines, petting zoo and other agritainment attractions once open to the public year-round may no longer operate on the same schedule (or at all). Call ahead or check their current website before planning a visit. The Rock Ranch previously offered fresh, grain-fed, hormone/steroid-free beef and U-pick produce raised on-site, with each weekend once featuring a different themed event, live entertainment and ranch activities from April to October. Past Attractions - Cane Pole Fishing, Pony Rides, Paddle Boats, Hay Ride, Guest House, Gift Shop, Pumpkin Cannon, Giant Jumping Pillow, Corn Box, Fish Feeding Dock, Conestoga Wagons, Cow Train, Carousel, Kids Gators, Jolly Jump, Train Ride, Petting Zoo, Corn Maze and Zip Lines. Conestoga Campouts - Sit around a roaring campfire, roast marshmallows, and rediscover the magic of a country night sky. Enjoy an uncommon camping experience while creating memories. Many families, youth groups, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and birthday bunches have enjoyed a true pioneer experience in our Conestoga wagons. |
