This 32-acre park is nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains on the shores of the 2,800-acre Lake Burton. Despite its mountain location, the park is relatively flat, providing easy navigation for large RVs, children’s bicycles and wheelchairs.

Driving directions: Located 20 miles north of Clarkesville on GA Hwy 197, or 15 miles west of Clayton via GA Hwy 76 and GA Hwy 197.

Camping

40-Foot Campsites

Holds 1 tent, 2 tents, a pop-up trailer, or a trailer/motorhome up to 40 feet. Water, 20 & 30-amp electric, picnic table, grill and fire ring. No cable hookups. Comfort station with washer/dryer. Maximum 6 people and 2 vehicles per site.

40-Foot Premium Waterview Campsites

Same equipment as the standard sites, with creekside or lakeside locations available. Water, 20 & 30-amp electric, picnic table, grill and fire ring. No cable hookups. Comfort station with washer/dryer. Maximum 6 people and 2 vehicles per site.

Notice: Waterview and regular campsites have been combined, reducing check-in time and adding flexibility when extending stays. Campers select their site after check-in. Accessible campsites may be reserved in advance.

Picnic Shelter

Open-sided covered shelter with a great view of Lake Burton. Playground 125 feet away, restrooms within 175 feet, horseshoe pits adjacent, and canoe rentals nearby. Electricity and water. Day use only – please exit by 9:45 p.m.

Reservations & Cancellation Policy

Cancellation of a reservation must be made at least 3 days prior to arrival to receive a refund; a $10 cancellation/handling fee per reservation will be charged. Changing your arrival date less than 3 days before the scheduled arrival counts as a cancellation and forfeits the deposit.

7–14 Day Cottage Reservations: Cancellations 30+ days in advance receive a deposit refund minus the $10 cancellation fee. Cancelling less than 30 days but before 72 hours of arrival: request a refund in writing; if the cottage is rebooked for the original dates, you’ll receive a full refund minus the $10 fee. Cancelling within 72 hours of arrival forfeits the one-night deposit. Deposits are required for all reservations and are posted when the reservation is made.

Check-In/Check-Out: Check-in is between 1 p.m. and 10 p.m.; check-out is before 1 p.m. Campers must register and present a reservation confirmation before setting up. Not arriving on the first night of your stay counts as a no-show – your reservation is cancelled and the deposit forfeited.

Reservation Changes: One change is allowed at no charge with 3 days’ notice; additional changes incur a $10 per-reservation handling fee.
