Moody Forest Natural Area
About 4,426 acres along the Altamaha River, managed by The Nature Conservancy and Georgia DNR. It protects old-growth longleaf pines 200 to 300-plus years old and cypress and tupelo more than 600 years old, and it is home to rare wildlife such as the red-cockaded woodpecker, gopher tortoise and eastern indigo snake. Two interpretive trails offer more than five miles of year-round hiking.

Lake Mayers
A 170-acre lake for fishing, boating, swimming and water sports, lined with lake homes. Public beach, picnic shelters with tables and grills, restrooms and a boat launch.

A. Randall Tuten Environmental Park
A 20-acre park with streams, wetlands, two ponds and a floating dock, more than 100 species of trees, and a one-mile nature trail with a 500-foot boardwalk. The covered amphitheater hosts school groups, community concerts and plays.

County-run campground across from Deen’s Boat Landing on the Altamaha, with 20 paved campsites with water and sewer, a dump station, comfort station, nature trail, picnic shelters, grills and a playground.
