General Info
We are a nonprofit tax-exempt corporation located in the Arts Center building in downtown Hartwell.
Mission Our mission is to develop, coordinate, and promote all the arts: visual, performing, and literary. Cooperating with other regional organizations, we endeavor to facilitate the greatest possible opportunity for programming events.
Board Our current Board of Directors now serving are: President - Garlene Smithson, Treasurer - MaryAlice Ray, and members Ray Stowers, Lula Lowry, Victoria Pope, Shelby Reese, Bob Smithson, and Sheena Yeargin.
Belief As a member of the Hart County Chamber of Commerce, we believe the opportunity to display one's talent goes hand in hand with the opportunity to explore and learn about the arts. Therefore, we contract for performances, exhibits, artistic services, and workshops. Additionally, our Art Center offers space for the enjoyment of art, education, and cultural enrichment. After all, as George Sciababba says, perhaps imagination really is intelligence having fun.
