Take a trip back in time to the Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History in Kennesaw, Georgia!

With three impressive permanent collections and a membership in the prestigious Smithsonian Affiliations Program, the Museum offers a wide range of exhibits, including a glimpse into the daily lives of soldiers during the Civil War; a reproduction of a turn-of-the-century locomotive factory; and an exciting depiction of the Civil War's Great Locomotive Chase.

A special gallery will feature traveling exhibits from the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES) as well as other sources and will be changed every few months, so visit the Southern Museum often!

The Archives house a significant collection of company records, engineering drawings, blueprints, glass plate negatives, photographs and correspondence from various American businesses representing the railroad industry in the South after the Civil War. The Archives also contain a growing collection of Civil War letters, diaries, and official records.

Open daily: Monday – Saturday 9:30 AM – 5 PM, Sunday 12 – 5 PM - Admission: Adults $7.50, Senior Citizens (over 60) $6.50, Children 4-12 $5.50, Children 3 and under Free
