Deer at Skidaway Island State ParkPark Amenities & Activities - Park borders Skidaway Narrows, a part of the intracoastal waterway with scenic camping and picnicking areas. 2 nature trails wind through marshes, live oaks, cabbage-palmettos and longleaf pines. Watch for deer, raccoon, shore birds and rare migrating birds such as the Painted Bunting.

The park borders Skidaway Narrows, a part of the intra-coastal waterway.

Two nature trails wind through marshes, live oaks, cabbage-palmettos and longleaf pines, allowing visitors to watch for wildlife animals including deer, raccoon, shore birds and rare migrating birds such as the Painted Bunting. BulletA giant ground sloth fossil replica, birding station, nature exhibits and reptile room are in the park's visitor center.
Campgrounds Info
Crane at Skidaway Island50 foot Campsites hold the following equipment: 1 tent, 2 tents, a pop-up trailer, a trailer up to 50', or a motorhome up to 50'. All campsites are pull-thru sites. Each site has water, 30 amp electrical service (limited number of 50 camp sites are first come, first served), limited number of full hookup sites, cable hookup, picnic table, grill, and fire ring. The comfort station has washer/dryer. Maximum 6 people per site. Maximum 2 vehicles per site. Located 25 miles from beach access.

Pioneer Campsite - This is a primitive, rugged site for groups of at least 10 persons only. This area is for hike-in campers only. No vehicles allowed. Site is located by itself and approximately ½ mile from the parking area. Site has water, a small shelter, pit toilets, and fire ring. 25 miles to beach access.

3 Camper Cabins that sleep 4-5 people. The three mini-cabins each offer a screened porch, bathroom with shower, kitchen, master bedroom and kids’ sleeping loft. Guests bring their own linens, cooking supplies and sense of adventure. Outside, they’ll find a picnic table, grill and fire ring surrounded by beautiful Live Oaks and Spanish moss.
Picnic Shelters
Skidaway Island marsh areaPicnic Shelter #1 - Open-sided covered shelter, located near playground and swimming pool, and within 200 yards of nature center. Shelter has water, electricity, picnic tables, and grills. All visitors are required to have ParkPass.

Picnic Shelter #2 - #5 - Open-sided covered shelter, located in day use area, adjacent to parking lot and restrooms. Each shelter has water, electricity, grills, and tables. Shelter #4 is accessible. Large playground between shelters 4 & 5. All visitors are required to have ParkPass. All are located 25 miles from beach access.

Group Shelter - End shelter, located in day use area. Shelter has heat/ac, separate kitchen, tables and chairs to accommodate 150, bbq, and oyster cooking shed adjacent to the building. Also has volleyball courts and restrooms. Occupancy not to exceed 150. Renter is responsible for making sure that their guests obtain ParkPass. All visitors are required to have ParkPass. It is 25 miles to beach access.
