Geology Day - 7/19/2008
Join Professor Rich McWilliams of Thomas University from Thomasville, Georgia as he conducts a hike through the canyons so visitors will see one of the geologic wonders of the southeastern United States. $3 parking.

Georgia Junior Golf Tour - Georgia Veterans Memorial Golf Course - 7/19-7/20/2008  8 am-5 pm
The sixth in a series of eight golf tournaments for boys and girls, ages 6 to 18, based on 18 to 36 holes of play. Registration required and can be done online. Parents can serve as caddies. Qualifying Event for Champion's Cup Golf Tournament to be held at Wallace Adams Golf Course at Little Ocmulgee State Park on October 11-12, 2008. $75 - $125.

Georgia Veterans Memorial Triathlon and Duathlon - 8/16/2008 at 7 am - 10 am
Racers get a choice of participating in a triathlon, a half-mile swim in Lake Blackshear, a 13.6-mile bike race, a 3.1-mile run, or a duathlon, which drops the half-mile swim. Registration fee. $3 parkin

Callaway Gardens Family Fitness Series Triathlon - 8/31/2008 at 7 am - 12 pm (noon)

Remembering World War II -- Operation Market Garden - 9/13/2008 at 10 am - 4 pm
In September 1944, thousands of paratroopers descended from the sky to secure to bridges in Holland so that the Allied army could advance into Germany. Kelly's Zeroes' living history program will feature displays and lectures regarding the 63rd anniversary of Operation Market Garden, the largest airborne operation in history. $4-$7.

Artifact Identification and Primitive Skills Day - 10/18/2008 at 10 am - 4 pm

Special Postmark: 75th Anniversary of the New Deal - 10/18/2008 at 10 am - 7 pm
As stamp collector and president, FDR designed or influenced every stamp issued during his presidency. The Postal Service will hand-cancel souvenir cachets that commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the New Deal. Collectors and the Southeast Federation of Stamp Clubs will provide a hands-on "youth area" where children can learn the art of stamp collecting. $4-$7.

Franklin & Eleanor Roosevelt re-enactors will greet our guests and people who enjoyed Thanksgiving Dinner with FDR will be our guest as they recall those meaningful years. Descendants of band members who played for President Roosevelt will continue the Thanksgiving and family tradition of folk music on the lawn of the Little White House. $4-$7.

LaGrange-Troup County Annual Christmas Parade - 11/27/2008 at 9-10 pm
The LaGrange annual Christmas parade will stir the Christmas spirit in your heart and warm your soul. The Women's Division asks that you come join us on the square in beautiful historic downtown LaGrange for an old-fashioned Christmas parade. The evening will include over 100 floats, Christmas carolers, local school marching bands, performances by dance teams, clowns, appearances by Miss Troup County & Miss Hydrangea. To conclude the parade the anticipated arrival of Santa Clause on the fire truck will awe children young and old. Follow The Shephard Walk - 12/4/2008 at 6-9 pm
Let the Explorations In Antiquity Center take you on a walk that you will never forget. The walk takes place in a truly unique museum of daily life in biblical times.
