Callaway Gardens Annual Plant Fair & Sale - 3/26/17 10am-5pm
Head to Callaway Gardens with a plant list and a vehicle large enough to take home all of the great finds. Choose from garden-décor, gardening books and tools, as well as an array of flowering plants and shrubs, including many unique varieties and native plants that thrive in the Southeast. In addition to Callaway Gardens' plants and specialty items, 17 other nurseries and specialty vendors from throughout the Southeast will have plants for sale, answer plant-related questions and offer their unique garden-related wares. Ace: The Eugene Bullard Story - 3/30/17 at 7:30pm
World premiere! In 1909, a 12-year-old black child flees his hometown of Columbus, Ga., becomes a jockey, and works his way north as a vaudeville performer and prize fighter. In New York, Eugene Bullard hops a freighter to Europe and starts earning a living in the boxing ring just as World War I breaks out. What follows is the stuff of legend: The French Foreign Legion, a career as the world's first black fighter pilot, the Croix de Guerre and post-war success as a jazz club owner in Paris. During World War II, he becomes a spy against the Nazis and eventually has to escape to the U.S. In spite of his celebrated military heroism, Bullard returns to a segregated America and takes a job as an elevator operator at Rockefeller Center. Ace: The Eugene Bullard Story is the tale of a local kid who overcomes the odds to become one of the most astonishing figures of the 20th century. Handicapped Accessible event. Charlotte's Web - 4/1/17 at 11am-1:30pm
Based on the classic children’s novel by E. B. White, Charlotte’s Web is the story of a pig named Wilburn and his friendship with a barn spider named Charlotte. Performed by the Serenbe Playhouse Theatre Company. Performance will be outdoors, so bring chairs or a blanket. Handicapped Accessible (Limited) event. Pets are welcome. April Fools 23-Mile Hike - 4/1/17 at 7am-6pm
Start at sunrise with leader Bob Jones to traverse the 23 miles of this fabulous and diverse trail along Pine Mountain Ridge. Early registration includes t-shirt. Volunteers will pick up hikers at the end. Meet at Callaway Country Store Overlook Parking Lot on Hwy 27. Register and pay by March 24. Costs are $20 per person and $5 parking fee.

Nearly Normal String Band - 4/1/17 at 7-8pm
Join talented Georgia musicians, Viva and Neil Araki, for a lively performance around the campfire. Listen and sing-a-long to classic bluegrass and Appalachian, Celtic and folk music. Bench seating or bring a chair. Bring a picnic. Flashlight and marshmallow sticks are suggested. Meet at the Wooden Amphitheater in the campground below Lake Delanor Dam. Watermelon Express Train Ride - 4/1/17 starting at 9:10am
Travel from our Downtown Cordele Depot to Historic Plains, Ga. Explore the Jimmy Carter National Historic Site Museum, the train depot campaign headquarters, the Billy Carter Service Station and Museum. "Let There Be Art!" Benefit Gala - 4/6/17 at 7pm

Night Eggstravaganza - 4/7/17 at 6:30-9pm
Arrive early for a hot dog supper, fantastic egg games and the petting coral. Begin with competition games: egg tossing and ribbon runs for ages 10 to adult. Visit the animals in the petting coral. Visit The Rock Ranch for this free event! Children can hunt for more than 40,000 plastic prize eggs. Kids can get photos with the Easter Bunny, and enjoy a presentation of the Easter story from the Bible just before the egg hunt – all for free! Don't forget your camera. Concessions are available. 5K CottonTrail Rabbit Run & 1 Mile Fun Run - 4/8/17 at 8-11:30am
Run over the creeks and through the woods along Mountain Creek Trail. Register and pay at the park office or pay CC over the phone. Preregistration by March 31 includes t-shirt, team (6 or more in a group) and individual prices. No guaranteed shirt for walk-in registration. Costs before March 31 is $15 to $25 per person, on 4/8 is $25 per person, plus $5 parking fee.

Night Hike and a Picnic - 4/8/17 at 6-9:30pm
Join us before dark at the highest point along Pine Mountain Ridge and loop through mixed hardwood forests. Catch the sunset too as you ramble this 4.3-mile, moderate trail. This hike is geared towards ages 10 and up. Bring a flashlight, a picnic supper, and dress for the weather. Meet at Dowdell's Knob Trailhead. Free fun event! $5 parking fee.

Wildwood Bluegrass Band - 4/8/17 at 7-8pm
Well known for their talent and dedication to keeping alive the sounds of Appalachian-style mountain music, Wildwood Bluegrass Band will perform in the amphitheater near the group shelter. 72nd Commemorative Ceremony for FDR - 4/12/17 at 12noon-1pm
Tribute to America's only four time elected president with a keynote speaker, USMC Color Guard and US Army band. We will pay tribute to President Franklin Delano Roosevelt on the anniversary of his death at the Little White House. This event includes a U.S. Marine Color Guard and Fort Benning Army Band as well. "Let There Be Art!" Luncheon - 4/13/17 at 11:30am
Let There Be Art! closes with a presentation by Rebecca Wood from R. Wood Studios in Athens, Ga. Now the owner of one of the largest pottery studios in America, Rebecca got her start on a used kiln that a friend bought for her at a yard sale. Besides creating her one of a kind ceramics, Rebecca is also one of the photographers behind the blog, and book, Beauty Everyday. It represents a pictorial and poetic love affair with southern beauty. She also has a blog called 'southernshacks.com', where she documents the beauty of old homesteads and rural structures. Full Moon Flat Rock Hike - 4/14/17 at 8-9:30pm
This is an easy 1 mile hike at sunset around the unique flat rock trail. The granite outcropping area has a wide open area for viewing the moon rise. A telescope will be set for your use. Festival by the Lake/Easter Egg Hunt - 4/15/17 at 10am-4pm
Florence Marina invites the public to its annual Festival by the Lake and Easter Egg Hunt. Come out and enjoy an afternoon perusing the craft tables, or set up your own table of items to sell. The egg hunts will begin at 1 p.m. and will be separated by age groups. A vendor fee will be applied if you wish to set up a booth. Free fun event! $5 vehicle parking fee.
