Arts in Black Festival - 4/29/17 at 10am-10pm
Explore African and African-American heritage in April with music, dance, food, crafts, dramatic storytelling, a poetry competition and fun educational activities for the kids. Honoring this heritage is what the festival is all about. Workshops and a health fair at the event provide special services to those in Tifton and the surrounding areas. Pets are welcome. Big Little River Paddle Race - 4/29/17 at 8am
Join us for the 5th annual paddle race. Race 3 miles on a downstream stretch of the Little River with winding flat black water and some trees to maneuver. Event begins at Red Roberts Landing and finishes in the lake on the Colquitt County side. Registration is at 8 a.m. and the race begins at 9:30 a.m. Pre-registration is available in the park office. 30th Annual Peacock Day - 5/13/17 at 9am-3pm
Find out how the town of Pavo (the Latin word for peacock) got such an interesting name. A 1 mile fun run/walk for children 12 and under begins at 8:30 a.m. The festival begins at 9 a.m. with arts and crafts, food booths, and fun activities, including a pie eating contest, peacock calling, sack races and more.
