We will be celebrating Independence Day weekend with a day of fun activities. We will have several games for teams to compete in. Winners will receive a prize.

Swamper's Guide to the Galaxy - Friday at 9 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.
Watch for meteors, planets, observe the moon or take in all the stars above as we gaze upon a truly dark sky from deep within the Okefenokee. We will use both our unaided eyes and telescopes while we stargaze. Stephen C. Foster State Park is one of the darkest places in the Southeast due to a lack of light pollution in the Okefenokee Swamp.

Celebrate Fourth of July in Clay County with a weekend full of exciting events for the entire family. The Run for Independence 5K on July 1 at 8 a.m. starts at East Bank, running along the beautiful Phenomenon Trail and concluding at George T Bagby State Park. Pre-Registration is $15, week of event is $20, and the day of the run is $30.
Next, join us at George T Bagby State Park and Lodge for an Art Exhibit and Sale in the Queen's Room. The Lodge will also be host to a Boyd's Marine Boat Show and SunSouth Tractor Exhibit. Hop on a shuttle bus to the picnic shelter for an antique car show, children's inflatables and live music. Later that night, come into town for the annual Street Dance sponsored by KJ's Grilling Company.
On Monday, July 3, come enjoy some delicious Chicken Que across from the Corps of Engineer's office on Hwy. 39 and to end the weekend with a bang, come enjoy our famous Fireworks Show at dusk.

Junior Ranger Camp - 7/10/17 - 8/7/17 at 9:00AM - 4:30PM
Children ages 7-14 are invited to this multiday camp to learn how to become a Jr Ranger. Some activities will include canoeing, hiking, aquatic exploration and crafts. To earn their Jr Ranger Badge, children will learn about a variety of topics such as animals, wilderness survival, and much more. Register in advance.
