Smith or Miller lead tours of the winery and Georgia's only wine cave and offer barrel samples of future vintages. The Tour de la Cave & Barrel Tasting allows you to visit Yonah Mountain Vineyards, a 197 acre privately held estate near Cleveland. Afterward, you will convene at the tasting room in Sautee-Nacoochee for a full tasting, which includes the Yonah Mountain Vineyards glass. The tour begins at 12 noon. Additional tour times are offered based upon demand. The cost of the tour is $25 per person and includes a full tasting and the Yonah Mountain Vineyards glass. Lunch and Learn "Ask Granny" - 5/22/13 at 11:30am-1pm

Dahlonega Appalachian Jam - 5/25/13 at 2-5pm
North Georgia's mountain music pickers and singers flock to the Dahlonega Gold Museum State Historic Site for the 2013 Dahlonega Appalachian Jam every Saturday. The Appalachian Jam gives traditional mountain music players the chance to get together and celebrate the kind of music that has been performed in the Appalachian Mountains for generations. Musicians are invited to bring their instruments and gather on the historic Public Square to jam with the scheduled musicians. Everyone else should come on down and listen or dance. Elachee’s New “Nature Play” Preschool Program - 5/25/13 at 10:30am-12noon
Designed for children ages 2-5 and their parents, “Nature Play” is a great opportunity for preschool children and their parents to get outdoors and explore the wonders of nature. Led by an experienced Elachee naturalist, the program features hikes along the Chicopee Woods nature trails, fun and educational seasonal topics and activities, and child-initiated exploration time. Cars & Guitars - 5/25/13 at 1-6pm
Cruise among street rods, classic and custom cars in downtown Hartwell. This family-friendly event is a great way to kick-start summer! This event helps to raise money for the Pre-4th Extravaganza fireworks. The children's activity area is a fundraiser for Hart County's Imagination Library, which provides free books to kids age 5 and under. The Classic Car Show Registration is $15 if paid by May 3, 2013. After May 3, the registration increases to $20. Street rod, classic car and custom cars will be eligible for trophies. Classic cars must be at least 25 years of age. Vendor spaces are $50. 6th Annual Canoe/Kayak Tugaloo River History Tour - 5/25/13 at 8:30am-2:30pm
Stephens County Foundation will be sponsoring the 6th Annual Canoe/Kayak River History Tour of the Tugaloo Corridor. Kelly Vickers, archivist for the foundation, will be sharing Native American history and early pioneer stories along the corridor. Interested paddlers and history buffs meet at Walker Creek Boat Ramp for departure at 8:30 a.m. Bring your own boat and packed lunch. Takeout will be early afternoon adjacent to the Tugaloo Mound. Challenge of the Centuries Bike Ride - 5/25 - 5/26/13 at 8am
The Challenge of the Centuries Bike Ride is open to cyclists and accomplished skaters. Beginning and ending in Hartwell (adjacent to beautiful Lake Hartwell and the Georgia/South Carolina border), participants enjoy riding loops that traverse rolling back country roads with picturesque scenery and minimum traffic. Each day, there are three different rides and routes: 100 miles, 100 kilometers and 50 kilometers. Location is the Hartwell Family YMCA in Hartwell. Camping on site is available. Enjoy this spectacular sight or the simple beauty of the wild roadside roses as you ride the Challenge of the Centuries. Art Camp at the Q has been a summer tradition for Northeast Georgia families for over two decades. Finished art camp creations will be something you and your child will be proud to take home and display. Your child won't want to miss "Art of the Waters" and will complete projects in a variety of two- and three-dimensional media, including painting, sculpture, print making, collage and much more. This camp is planned in conjunction with the American Society of Marine Artists exhibition "Cruising Southern Waters" on display at the Quinlan June 13-August 17. The pace is slow and child-friendly. Our campers study nature while walking trails, wading in creeks, creating crafts, and singing songs. Summer History Camp - Explorer's Camp - 6/4 - 6/7/13 at 9:30am-12:30pm
Explorer's Camp for ages 5 to 8. Campers will explore the "Then" and "Now" of various professions as it pertains to local history and heritage. Through foods, games, history walks, crafts and visiting guests, campers will learn what it was like to be a doctor back then and how it differs from now. Other professions explored will be store owners, hotel and innkeepers, housewives, farmers, factory workers and soldiers. Activities will include making herbal lotions and salves, pomanders, making butter and germinating and planting seeds to take home. It's time to replace the chinking on the "old fort". Come prepared to get dirty. We make the chinking onsite and would love to have everyone come out and help stomp in the mud. Hayride to the beach several times during the day Saturday to help with cleanup. Camping onsite is limited. Set up on Friday. North Georgia Quarter Midgets Eastern Grands - 7/21 - 7/27/13 at 11am
Watch children age 5 to 16 compete in the North Georgia Quarter Midgets Eastern Grands. Quarter Midgets of America is a non-profit organization with more than 2,500 family memberships and approximately 4,000 drivers. There are 13 regions in the organization and 50 Quarter Midget Clubs Nationwide. The sport involves racing in specially prepared cars. The cars, rules and safety procedures are designed specifically for kids. They race on oval tracks approximately 1/20 of a mile. A child who is 5 to 16 years of age can race.
