Masterpiece Painting & Wine Tasting - 11/23 & 11/30/14 at 2-4pm
Join Braselton-based Masterpiece Mixers Paint & Party Studio at Yonah Mountain Vineyards for an exciting wine tasting and painting experience. No experience or artistic ability is necessary, as local artist Krista Goodrich will guide participants step-by-step through creating an acrylic masterpiece on a 16x20 canvas. Creative juices will flow as Yonah Mountain Vineyards' award-winning wines will be offered for tasting during the painting class. For $40, participants will receive three 2 oz. glasses of Yonah Mountains Vineyards wine, and the price includes all of the material needed for painting - the canvas, paint, brushes, apron and instruction. The Festival of Trees is held in Unicoi Lodge and Conference Center. Clayton Cluckers Turkey Trot - 11/27/14 at 8-10am
Put the turkey in the oven on Thanksgiving morning then join the 5K run or walk through downtown Clayton to celebrate our thanksgivings. All proceeds from the race will benefit a local food distribution center. Although there is an entry fee, participants are also asked to bring canned food for donation to the food distribution center selected . Cornelia Christmas Light Spectacular - 11/27 - 11/30/14 at 5:30-11pm
The Cornelia Christmas Light Spectacular takes place in Cornelia City Park starting Thanksgiving evening at dusk and continues through New Year's Day. The drive through the lights is free! Enjoy a professional display of thousands of lights for your family to enjoy. As part of the festivities in 2014, Cornelia will once again host several days of additional activities. From Dec. 17-21, ice skating ($5 per person) and hayrides through the lights ($2 per person) return to Cornelia City Park starting at 5:30 p.m. Roast marshmallows around the fire pits, drink hot cocoa, play reindeer games and more. From Thursday, Dec. 18 to Saturday, Dec. 20, bring the kids by to visit with Santa with photo opportunities and let them enjoy fun in the Elf Workshop making holiday crafts they can take home (free). Christmas In Downtown Clayton - 11/28/14 at 5-9pm
Shop in a quaint northeast Georgia mountain town decorated for Christmas. Bring the kids and grandkids to talk with Santa (and maybe Mrs. Claus!), see the shop windows decorated for the season, and walk along the streets lined with luminaries to kick off the holiday season in the mountains. Sip cider and munch on snacks at the many shops all decked out for Christmas. Hear Sam the Bagpiper and carolers walking through downtown. This is a true old fashioned Christmas event. Restaurants open. Christmas tree lighting at 6 p.m. at the Rock House. Santa will be available for pictures. Lighting of the Village - 11/28/14
Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive by horse-drawn carriage at the downtown band shell as the village is lighted to begin the holiday season. Musical performances by local groups will precede their arrival, and children are invited to meet with Santa from 6 to 8 p.m. Everyone is invited to this annual kickoff to Christmas! Walk Off The Turkey - 11/28/14 at 10:30am-3pm
Take a guided hike through the gorge floor to work off those extra pounds you acquired over Thanksgiving. This hike is strenuous and involves climbing over and under rocks and logs, jumping from rock to rock, and possibly getting your feet wet. Participants must be 10 or older. Register in advance. Dahlonega's Old Fashioned Christmas is a month-long celebration set into motion on Friday, Nov. 28, 2014, with the Lighting of the Square. Plenty of festive holiday eventscontinue almost daily with caroling, entertainment, wine sampling, and live theater events. A live nativity scene with animals will be on display at the Park Place Hotel on the Square, and kids can visit with Santa every Saturday and Sunday afternoon. During your visit, ride an old-fashioned trolley and take a horse-drawn carriage ride through town. Other events include a parade, a Sleigh Bell Tour of inns and bed and breakfasts. Tour de la Cave & Barrel Samping is the best way to learn about Yonah Mountain Vineyards from the inside out. Join owner Bob Miller or his son Eric Miller for the next Tour de la Cave and Barrel Tasting offered by Yonah Mountain Vineyards. Tour the newly expanded winery and Georgia's only wine cave and sample future vintages. The Tour de la Cave & Barrel Tasting allows you to visit Yonah Mountain Vineyards, a 197-acre privately held estate near Cleveland, and view the construction of the new tasting room. The tour concludes at the tasting room in Sautee-Nacoochee with a pour of six wines. You leave with the Yonah Mountain Vineyards souvenir glass. Christmas Open House - 11/29 - 11/30/14 at 1-5pm
The 2014 season of visitation at the Reece Farm and Heritage Center will conclude on the last weekend of November. In celebration of the closing and in anticipation of the seasons of Advent and Christmas, we will be having an Open House on those two days. There will be no charge for admission to the exhibits. (Donations to support the farm activities are always welcome.) Drawings for door prizes provided by consignors and others will occur at 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Presence at the drawings is not required, but guests must come to the Welcome Center to receive a ticket and register to attend. Light refreshments will be served. Craft activities for children will be available. Weather permitting, musical presentations and singing will be conducted in the pavilion. Authors of books or CDs in the Gift Shop, primarily from the local area, will be present for signings on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2014, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Free admission and parking. The Cornelia Christmas Light Spectacular takes place in Cornelia City Park starting Thanksgiving evening at dusk and continues through New Year's Day. The drive through the lights is free! Enjoy a professional display of thousands of lights for your family to enjoy. As part of the festivities in 2014, Cornelia will once again host several days of additional activities. From Dec. 17-21, ice skating ($5 per person) and hayrides through the lights ($2 per person) return to Cornelia City Park starting at 5:30 p.m. Roast marshmallows around the fire pits, drink hot cocoa, play reindeer games and more. From Thursday, Dec. 18 to Saturday, Dec. 20, bring the kids by to visit with Santa with photo opportunities and let them enjoy fun in the Elf Workshop making holiday crafts they can take home (free). On Dec. 19 and Dec. 20, you can also peruse the Holiday Market for any last minute gifts and one of a kind arts & crafts. Whitewater-Watching Hike - 4/4 & 4/12/15 at 11am-2pm

Hike down to Bridal Veil Falls to watch brave souls navigate the swift moving waters of Tallulah River. The water flowing through the gorge will be much stronger than usual, making the falls even more beautiful. Bring a snack and lots of water. The hike is strenuous.
