2014 Rhododendron Festival - 4/25 - 4/27/14
Take part in the yearly tradition of strolling through the magnificent and rare beauty of 400 rhododendrons in an explosion of colors and varieties during the Rhododendron Festival at Hamilton Gardens. Each weekend, April 18 through May 18, 2014, specially selected vendors will be offering a variety of handcrafted garden arts and crafts in the gardens' upper parking level. They will be there Fridays and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays 11 p.m. to 3 p.m. Admission and parking to crafters row is free. Celebrate Southern Appalachian music, art and culture. Pre-festival events take place on Friday before the weekend event, with jammers on Dahlonega's Historic Public Square during the day and a Live and Silent Country Auction/dinner in the MainStage tent that night. Free non-stop bluegrass and old-time music concerts take place all day both days of the festival in the MainStage tent. A juried artist market fills the town's historic Public Square with hand made pottery, photography, fok art, wood crafts, fiber crafts and much more. Friday Night Concert Series - 10/3, 10/10, 10/17 & 10/24/14 at 7pm
The Union County Historical Society invites musicians to perform a free concert in the courtroom at the Old Courthouse. On most Fridays, every bench is taken, the balcony is filled to capacity, and people line the walls of the renovated courtroom to see the show.
