Dirty Spokes Mountain Bike Race - 5/3/2008 at 10 am - 10 pm
These 6-hour and 12-hour races take competitors along our mountain bike trail and allow visitors to see the action first-hand. Race entry fees begin at $40. $3 parking.

Anthony Shoals Lily Float - 5/17/2008 at 9:30 am
The Broad River Waterhed Association will host a canoe float to Anthony Shoals on Saturday May 17, to view the rare shoals spiderlily. The lily, first described in 1773 by naturalist-explorer William Bartram, grows only in the rocky beds of larger streams along the Fall Line in Georgia, Alabama and South Carolina.

Adopt-a-Stream Training - 5/30 - 5/31/2008

Helen Fat Tire Festival - 6/20 - 6/22/2008 - Call for times
Two and a half days of mountain biking fun. Kick off your Friday afternoon with a downhill shuttle ride, cookout and bonfire. Get the family and some friends together for a full festival day on Saturday. We have group rides geared to all levels and ages of mountain bike riders, a kids’ mountain bike rodeo, a trails demo and several bike games. That evening meet everyone in the Unicoi Lodge for dinner and a movie or night ride. On Sunday we will have more fun on our bikes with a 4-hour Scavenger Hunt Ride on the trails of Unicoi State Park.

Clem's Shoal Creek Music Park Bluegrass Festival - 9/11 - 9/13/2008 at 6 pm
Clem Sayer probably knows just about every face and/or name that has come to his annual fall bluegrass festival. If someone doesn’t come for five years, he still remembers them. If they forget to make reservations, he’s on it. Tickets for Thursday shows are $10 and the concerts start at 6 p.m. On Friday, tickets are $15 from 1 to 6 p.m. and $10 after 6. On Saturday, concerts start at noon and tickets are $15 until 6 p.m., when the price drops to $10.

The hike will begin at the Interpretive Center, following the North Rim Trail, with a descent of the Hurricane Falls Trail staircase of about 325 steps to the suspension bridge over Hurricane Falls. Kayak Hike - 11/1 - 11/2 & 11/8 - 11/9 & 11/15 - 11/16/2008 at 11 am - 2 pm & 12 pm - 3 pm
Pending availability of water, for the first time the public will be able to take a ranger-led hike down Sliding Rock Trail to view kayakers braving Bridal Veil Falls. This is an extremely strenuous hike consisting of descending and ascending a 750-foot boulder field to the Class V Tallulah River. Register in advance. $4 parking.
