Biking Bleckley - 2/27/10 at 8:30 am - 4 pm
Tired of sharing the road with heavy traffic and unsympathetic motorists? Come share the less traveled roads of a rural community. The Cochran-Bleckley Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring its sixth annual bicycle ride through Southern Country Roads on Feb. 27, 2010. It is perfect for families and new cyclists, as well as experienced riders. A 15, 30, 50 and 62 mile route will be available. All routes are supported with maps, SAGS and refreshment breaks. A $30 early registration includes a Biking Bleckley long sleeve T-shirt; late registration of $35 does not guarantee T-shirt. All fees are non-refundable. Peaches to the Beaches Yard Sale - 3/12 - 3/13/10 at 8 am - 5 pm
All you treasure seekers get ready for the annual Peaches to the Beaches Yard Sale. This yard sale begins above Perry, Ga and travels Hwy 341 for approx. 212 miles to Brunswick, GA. The communities along Hwy 341 participate by hosting antique/yard sale vendors of all sorts. Yard sale booths are available for individuals and churches, civic clubs and other community groups. Just remember "One Man's Junk is another Man's Treasure". Vendor fee is $30. Free fun event!

Home & Garden Showcase - 3/13 & 3/14/10 - Call for times
Come out and peruse the exhibitors at the first ever Home & Garden Showcase at Central Square Complex in Douglas or attend one of the break out sessions on topics from "Restoring Old Treasures" to "Budget Designs"! Everyone involved in the Home and Garden business is invited to exhibit at this showcase which will take place both indoors and outdoors at Central Square Complex...from landscapers and interior designers to building supply stores, electricians, appliance retailers, and more!

Cushman Club - 3/22 - 3/26/10
The SECC holds an annual meeting in Cochran each year in March. The SECC is a family oriented club that is dedicated to the restoration and preservation of vintage Cushman motor scooters. Stop by the Bleckley County Recreation Center for the Show Scooter Competition and Judging!

Another Bloomin' Festival - 4/3/10 at 8 am - 5 pm
Celebrate the beauty and renewal of Spring. Neighboring counties come to Metter to celebrate "Another Bloomin' Festival". The Festival includes an Easter egg hunt, arts & craft, commercial & specialty booths, classic car cruise-in, Poker Run, Entertainment and a lot of delicious food.

20th Annual Baxley Tree Fest - 4/16 & 4/17/10 - Call for times
Festival features many events leading up to the big weekend like: Cake Bake, Tree-tography Contest, Karaoke Contest, and much more. Our Friday Night "Street Dance" 6p-12am. On Saturday events all day. Call for fees.

Tree Fest Sprint Triathlon - 5/15/10 at 6-11 am
Come enjoy this family-oriented event to help promote exercise and good health among all ages. Event features 1/4 mile Swim, 12 mile Bike Ride, and 3 mile Run at Lake Mayers in Baxley, Georgia.
