History of Jefferson Davis Memorial Historic Site - 11/20 - 11/31/2009
This year-long exhibit tells the history of the site, where Confederate President Jefferson Davis was captured, helping end the War Between The States. Also learn about the site's WPA museum and other structures. $2.75-$4. Phone: 229-831-2335 - Address: Jefferson Davis Memorial Historic Site, 338 Jeff Davis Park Rd, Fitzgerald, GA 31750 - Directions: From I-75 exit #78 go east 14 miles on Ga. Hwy. 32 to Irwinville. Pioneer Harvest Festival - 11/21/2009 at 10 am - 5 pm
The Heritage Farm will come to life as volunteers demonstrate the skills of farm life from the 1800s. This festival includes crafters, musicians and dancers. $5 parking. Handicapped Accessible. Christmas Extravaganza - 12/3 at 5:30-8:30 pm & 12/4/09 at 6 pm - 8 pm
Thursday, December 3: Jingle Bell Walk: 5:30 pm - 6 pm. (Helena-McRae, Georgia) Join us as we take a walk thru Helena on 8th Avenue and McRae on Oak Street. Line up for the walk will be on Forsyth Street * Helena, GA. The walk line up begins at 5:00 p.m. and the walk will begin promptly at 5:30 pm. Bring your jingle bells and help us officially begin the Christmas Season in Telfair County. Christmas Night Out: 6 pm until (Helena-McRae, Georgia) Take a stroll along the streets of Helena and McRae, Georgia, shop and sample delicious food from local Merchants. There will be story time and train rides. Santa will be making an appearance so the kids can get their wish list in early. Friday: Annual Lighted Christmas Parade: 6 pm. (Helena-McRae, Georgia) The parade route will be along 8th Ave-Helena and Oak Street McRae, ending at Piggly Wiggly.

Cochran Lighted Christmas Parade - 12/4/09
Enjoy seeing beautiful Christmas floats. Call for info in being in parade. The parade is scheduled to begin at 7 pm, but the time is subject to change. Free fun event!

Celebration of Lights & Winter Wonderland - 12/5/2009
Kick-off your Holiday Season with our Annual Celebration of Lights Christmas Parade followed by a Fairytale Winter Wonderland Celebration. The event begins as thousands gather to see the thousands of lights parade through downtown Baxley with their Holiday themed entries. 1860s Christmas - 12/5/2009 at 6 pm - 8 pm
Step back in time with candlelit tours to learn about Christmas before, during and after the Civil War. Re-enactors will help illustrate these periods and Santa will visit the kids. Join us at the group shelter for refreshments and crafts following the program. Cost: $2.75-$4.

Come join the Arts Council of Appling County as the host the "Route 66" Musical performance by Springer Theatrical Tours on February 5, 2010 at 7pm in the Appling County Fine Arts Center. Peaches to the Beaches Yard Sale - 3/12 - 3/13/10 at 8 am - 5 pm
All you treasure seekers get ready for the annual Peaches to the Beaches Yard Sale. This yard sale begins above Perry, Ga and travels Hwy 341 for approx. 212 miles to Brunswick, GA. The communities along Hwy 341 participate by hosting antique/yard sale vendors of all sorts. Yard sale booths are available for individuals and churches, civic clubs and other community groups. Just remember "One Man's Junk is another Man's Treasure". Vendor fee is $30. Free fun event!

Come out and peruse the exhibitors at the first ever Home & Garden Showcase at Central Square Complex in Douglas or attend one of the break out sessions on topics from "Restoring Old Treasures" to "Budget Designs"! Everyone involved in the Home and Garden business is invited to exhibit at this showcase which will take place both indoors and outdoors at Central Square Complex...from landscapers and interior designers to building supply stores, electricians, appliance retailers, and more!
