Lower Overlook Park - Amenities: Picnic tables, grills, winter view of Buford Dam. laundry, restrooms and user fee. Laurel Ridge Trail (3.8 miles) goes through park. Note: No pets allowed. From Jan 1 through March 30, open until 5 pm. From April 1 through third week in September, open until 10 pm. Lower Pool East Powerhouse Park - Amenities: Restrooms, picnic tables and boat ramp. Note: No pets allowed. Open Jan 1 through March 30 until 5 pm, and April 1 through third week in September until 10pm. Closed the rest of the year. Mary Alice Park - Amenities: Restroom facilities, picnic, beach and boat launch ramps. Fee for park entry and to boat launch. Phone: Lake Lanier Islands at 770-932-7200 - Directions: From GA 400 take exit 15 Bald Ridge Rd, go east towards Lake Lanier and take a right on Market Place Drive, go left on Mary Alice Rd until it  dead ends into the park. GPS Location: Latitude is 34.2017649 and Longitude is -84.0990791
Mountain View Park - Amenities: Restrooms, picnic tables, boat ramp, dock, beach front in cove, fishing, and pets are allowed. Phone: Army Corps of Engineers at 770-945-9531 - Located on Old 141 Road off Browns Bridge Rd. (GA 369)
Nix Bridge Park - Amenities: Restrooms, picnic tables, boat launch ramp with nice lake view. Pets are allowed. Open all year. Phone: Army Corps of Engineers at 770-945-9531 - Located off GA 226, Dawsonville Georgia - Directions: To reach the park, turn right onto Ga. 136 just north of the Dawsonville Outlet Malls and after a mile, turn right onto Ga. 226.
Old Federal Park - Amenities: Laundry, picnic shelter, boat ramps, beach, swimming area, Volleyball cour. Pets are allowed. User fee. Has free life jacket loaner program. Phone: Army Corps of Engineers at 770-945-9531 - Located on Old Federal Road, Flowery Branch, Georgia
Powerhouse Park - Amenities: Features scenic views of the Chattahoochee River and is a great spot for hikers, fishermen, tubers, and kayakers. The Laurel Ridge Trail (3.8 miles) goes through this park. There is a wildlife lookout point and a lovely bridge that takes pedestrians over the river just behind the dam. If you want to go tubing or rent kayaks, Up the River Outfitters uses the park as its drop spot. Note: No pets allowed. Phone: 770-945-6716 - Address: 1050 Buford Dam Road in Buford, Georgia
Robinson Park - Amenities: Restrooms, picnic tables, boat ramp. Pets are allowed. Park is open all year. Beach is open April 1 though third week in September. Phone: Army Corps of Engineers at 770-945-9531 - Located on Robinson Road off Dawsonville Hwy/GA 53, Gainesville Georgia - Directions: North on Dawsonville Hwy/GA 53. If you are heading from Gainesville, make a left onto Lynncliff Road. Follow Lynncliff Road to Robinson Road. Make a left onto Robinson Road, and go straight into the park. Please note: We visited this park during July 2013 and noticed that it looked abanonded. Although it is free to visit, please be aware that there are fallen tree branches, picnic tables are breaking down, etc. I would proceed with caution when visiting this park and would not go along.
Sardis Creek Park - Amenities: Restrooms, picnic tables, boat ramp. Pets are allowed. Open all year. Phone: Army Corps of Engineers at 770-945-9531 - Located on Antioch Church Rd., Gainesville, Georgia - Directions: From Dawsonville Hwy/GA 53, turn onto Sardis Road (right turn if coming from Gainesville). Follow the signs to Sardis Creek Park and turn right onto Antioch Road. Follow Antioch Road to the end.
Georgia's Beautiful Lake Sidney Lanier - Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Georgia is Lake Lanier, one of the most popular lakes in the SE. Lake Lanier is a large reservoir formed from the Chattahoochee River. Buford Dam is at the south end of the lake.
