Cornelia City Park has a Basketball court, tennis courts, baseball field, swimming pool, playground, picnic tables, pavilions. Bicycles permitted. Skateboards not allowed. *Bathrooms are at the ball field and swimming pool, when open. Trails: There is approximately 1 mi for walking.

Demorest Springs Park features a Playground for kids, a monument to Johnny Mize, gazebo used for weddings (must contact City Hall and pay a refundable deposit). Known for its natural springs and rockwork around the springs. Bathrooms are closed at night.

Lake Burton Trout Hatchery-GA DNR offers fishing for brown and rainbow trout, picnicking, wildlife viewing areas, kids' stocked catfish pond, boating and skiing on Lake Burton. Open daily from 8 am - 4:30 pm. Phone: 706-947-3112 - Location: 3695 Hwy 197 N, Clarkesville Georgia 30523. Directions: I-85 N to I-985 N to US Hwy. 23 to Hwy. 197.
Lake Russell Recreation Area-CNF has a 100-acre lake with grass beach near Chenocetah Mountain. Picnicking, hiking, camping, swimming, fishing and boating. Concrete boat ramp, camping, Littletons Fishing Lake (bass, bream, catfish and crappie) boats may use electric motors only, and swimming from the middle of May through October, Open all year. Lee Dorsey Cook Memorial Playground has a Playground for children 12 and under. No bicycles or skateboards. Big old-fashioned school swing sets, Jungle Jim with two slides, seesaw, sandbox, a basketball throw, and park benches and picnic tables for adults.

Panther Creek Recreation Area offers a cool wooded site on Panther Creek as two picnic shelters. Trail leads to three waterfalls. Picnicking, hiking and fishing. Panther Creek Falls
Panther Creek Falls Trail (5.5 miles) follows Panther Creek through stands of hemlock and white pine along steep, rocky bluffs of the creek. The trails passes a series of cascades, as well, Panther Creek Falls. This waterfalls drops through a series of cascades which culminate in a stunning 50-foot falls. It terminates where Davidson Creek joins Panther Creek. The trail is noted for its beautiful variety of wildflowers and ferns. The stream offers excellent opportunities for trout fishermen. Sam Pitts Park has a Playground for children, park benches and porch-style swings for adults. No bicycles or skateboards on the walking trail. Dogs should be under the control of their owners. This is a passive park, so no organized activities are permitted, such as Little League practice, etc. Pay telephone available. *6 a.m.-midnight (closed during high-water emergencies). Outdoor grills available, several close to the Soque River. Flush toilets. 1/3 mile walking trail (part next to the Soque River). Phone: 706-754-4216 - Location: Clarkesville Georgia
