Lake Oconee is a 19,000 square area lake located in Greene, Morgan, Hancock and Putnam counties. Boating, fishing, golf, shopping and various other activities are available on the lake. Northshore Resort at Lake Oconee has 85 tent and RV campsites. Camping amenities include pull-thru sites, big rig access, lake waterfront access, shady trees, pool Access, Internet access, electric hookups, water and sewer services and pets are allowed. Open year round. Facilities include an adult center, pavilion, bathhouse, beach area, boat dock, slips and ramp, clubhouse, game room, lake, laundry facilities, picnic area and shelter, playground, 2 swimming pools, RV and boat storage. Activities include Basketball, boating, fishing, horseshoes, miniature golf, nature trails, swimming, tennis, volleyball, water-skiing and planned activities. Office hours are 9 am to 4 pm. Parks Ferry Public Recreation Area offers Boat ramps, wildlife habitat area, boat dock, water treatment, camping, beach, beach house, camp hosts, 3 playgrounds, picnic areas, on border of Lake Oconee, restrooms, public phone, laundry area, dumpster and pets are allowed. 45 tent and RV campsites. Old Salem Public Recreation Area has boat ramps, boat docks, water treatment, 92 tent and RV camping sites, beach, electric and water hookups, bath house with showers, camp host, 2 playgrounds, pavilion, camper storage, dump station, on border of Lake Oconee, shady trees, public phone, laundry area, dumpster, restrooms and pets are allowed.
