The Native Plant Garden
This garden demonstrates the use and culture of US native plants in Georgia gardens. Too often we select plants at local nurseries, which can require extra care because they are not adapted to our climate, or worse could be invasive. There are several Native Plant Garden areas and we invite you to visit and enjoy each.

The Native Plant Garden features several areas of interest including Shade and Sun perennials and shrubs. The Shade gardens are laid out with many trails are within the woodland area near the creek. There are over 4000 species of native, rare, and endangered plants indigenous to the Southeast and US.
The World Garden
This garden contains more species of ferns than any other garden in the US and perhaps the world. The fern collection includes ferns from not only the US but also temperate areas around the world. The shade fern beds contain the largest number of ferns, but we also have xeric fern beds for those sun-loving ferns. Fern Mountain will inspire rock gardeners who love ferns!

This Garden has bog plants, native trees, shrubs, vines, ferns, and perennial plants.
Greenhouses and Plants for Sale
Check out the plant sale area, potting, outdoor plant holding areas and two greenhouses. These facilities provide the garden with many plants for the garden and for the public to purchase at both the Decatur and Dunwoody campuses of the Georgia Perimeter College.

Consider trying native plants. Rediscover the world of native plants at the GPC Native Plant Botanical Garden. The GPC Native Plant Botanical Garden offers the opportunity to see, learn and purchase native plants of Georgia and the US. Georgia native plants offer us the opportunity to enjoy what nature took years to develop and adapt to our area. Do what comes naturally - try natives. Rethink how a low maintenance garden utilizing native plants can improve the beauty of your landscape.
