DeKalb Co. Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs Department currently operates 12 outdoor swimming pools and 1 aquatic center. Aquatic programs offered by the department continue to grow at a fast pace. Questions? Call 678-937-8903. Visitors to our pools will find a wide-array of amenities for both fun and learning. In addition to pool amenity offerings, we offer private, semi-private, and group swim lessons annually during the summer to all ages, from structured classes to private and semi-private lessons.

The DeKalb County swim season begins on the Saturday before Memorial Day (May) and ends at select pools the Saturday before Labor Day (September). Call phone number below for swim fees and aquatic center fees.
Regular Pools Daily Swim Hours Open
Pools are open from 12 noon until 6 pm, Monday through Saturday. Pools are open from 1-6 pm on Sunday at select pools. All persons under 8 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Dekalb County Indoor Aquatic Park Pool
Pool Rentals - All 12 pools are available for rental. The pool can be rented before and after public swim hours. All requests for rentals must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the event date to the Aquatics Office located at 4898 LaVista Road in Tucker. Full payment is required in order to secure a reservation for a pool. All rentals are charged per hour with a minimum of two (2) hours and a max of 3 hours. There is also a refundable clean up fee. If age of the patrons of the pool party are 16 and above we require a security officer to be onsite. All security officers must be DeKalb County off duty police officers at a fee per hour per officer. Call for fees. No grilling of any kind is allowed on deck. NO loud or vulgar music is permitted. All patrons renting the pool must be 21 years of age or older.
Water Aerobics - Water aerobics is a cardiovascular exercise that emphasizes a total body workout. It is great for anyone who wants to get a complete workout without the stress and strain normal aerobics can create. It is not necessary to be able to swim to enjoy the experience of a water aerobic workout. DeKalb County offers two sessions for water aerobics 3 times a week at select pools. Each class is 1 hour. Water aerobics classes are charged per session. To join water aerobics classes visit the pool of your choice during normal business hours to sign up. There is a minimum of 8 people required to form a class and a maximum of 10. Call for cost.
Swim Lessons - DeKalb County Aquatics is proud to offer three schools of swim lesson, preschool, level one and two and Water babies. There will be four 2 week sessions offered during the summer at select pools. Each session contains 6 half-hour classes. To register for these classes, visit the pool of your choice and complete the registration process. Payment must accompany each application in order to be registered for any class. All payments must be received in the form of a money order or check made payable to DeKalb County Parks and Recreation.

Class Descriptions
Preschool - Designed for children 3 to 5 years of age with little or no swimming experience. Parents will not be allowed to accompany children into the water. Your child will learn to adapt to the water, blow bubbles, put their face in the water, independent submersion, kicking, arm paddling, floating and jumping. Games are also a highlight to the instruction.

Level One - Designed for ages 5 and older that have previous swimming skills and can pass a basic skills test. Everyone will be tested on the following skills the first day of class: blowing bubbles, putting their face in the water for 5 to 10 seconds, front kick while holding onto the side, bobbing head while holding onto side, and recovering an object from the bottom of the pool in 3 feet of water. Each participant will improve in the above mentioned skills plus learn the following: front crawl, elementary backstroke, and breaststroke. Instruction will take place in 3 to 5 feet of water.

Level Two - Designed for ages 6 and older that have had at minimum 2 years swimming experience and are able to pass the following skills on the first day: front crawl with breathing, front float, and treading water. Skills from level one will be reinforced and new skills will be taught improving the breaststroke, sidestroke, backstroke, elementary backstroke, and diving. Diving will take place in 8 feet or deeper. No diving in water less than 8 feet deep. Instruction will take place in 3 to 5 feet of water.

Swim Lessons Fee - Call for fees for DeKalb residents and -DeKalb County residents. A minimum of 8 people are required to form a class and a maximum of 10.
Competitive Youth Swim Teams
Competitive swimming is available for youth between 5 and 18 years of age with the DeKalb Swim League (DSL).
