Lake Blackshear Park is the largest recreation facility in Crisp County. It is 8,700 acres of paradise for fishing, water skiing, and paddling pleasure, Lake Blackshear offers many types of rewarding activities. Each year the lake is the site of national bass fishing tournaments that bring participants from all over the nation. The tournaments are eagerly anticipated events that draw impressive crowds to the shores of Lake Blackshear.

Boating, skiing, trophy fishing, swimming, and other water sports are avaliable at Lake Blackshear. A national bass fishing tournament is hosted annually. The Retreat at Lake Blackshear and the Georgia Vetrans State Park are located at the lake, along with several restaurants recognized by Southern Living Magazine.
