Once part of the 33-acre estate of entrepreneur Cator Woolford, it was originally a private garden and was restored and redesigned in the 1920s by a prominent Philadelphia landscape architect. When the property was sold to the Children’s Rehabilitation Center in the 1940s, it became a therapeutic garden to enhance the nature experiences of people with disabilities.
Now it’s a favorite site for outdoor weddings and other social events. Its a non-profit venue that uses its profits to run the Frazer Center.
The Frazer Center was established by Mrs. James N. Frazer and Mrs. Mills B. Lane as The Cerebral Palsy School of Atlanta to meet the educational needs of children with disabilities.
Today the Center provides services to children and adults with disabilities as well as children who are typically developing. The Frazer Center exists to maximize the potential of individuals with disabilities by providing quality comprehensive individual, family and community based services, research and training, all on a sound financial budget. |
