This aquarium center is l ocated adjacent to Magnolia Springs State Park near Millen, GA.
The center teaches the importance of clean streams and lakes through interpretive exhibits, guided tours and fishing rodeos. Visitors learn about numerous freshwater species and their protection.
A portion of the adjacent hatchery is used to raise catfish, bream and bass, providing an excellent location for children to learn the sport of fishing. More than two dozen tanks feature such local fish as bluegill, redbreast, bass, crappie and mudfish, plus many others.
Group tours are available for school field trips. scouts, youth groups, church organizations and other groups. Groups need to call for reservations. Tours include the aquarium, a behind the scenes tour, a nature trail and boardwalk, freshwater springs, history of Camp Lawton, and nature programs (including alligators). |
