A H Stephens Historic State Park
A.H. Stephens State Historic Park features a Confederate museum with one of the finest collections of Civil War artifacts in Georgia, including uniforms and documents. Stephens’ home, Liberty Hall, is renovated to its 1875 style, fully furnished and open for tours. Beautiful outdoor facilities make this park a treat for both nature lovers and history buffs. The lakeside group camp is a popular location for large overnight gatherings.

Campgrounds Info
Regular Campsites: 60 Foot + Campsite holds the following equipment: 1 tent, 2 tents, a pop-up trailer, a trailer up to 60' or longer, or a motorhome up to 60' or longer. Has water, 30 amp electrical service (50 amp sites are first come first serve), picnic table, grill, fire ring, comfort station with washer/dryer. No cable. Maximum 6 people per site allowed. Maximum 2 vehicles per site allowed.
Group Camps: Summer Camp Fun - Group camps are reminiscent of going away to summer camp and are perfect for large youth gatherings. While each is unique, they all provide rustic “cabins” with bunk beds, large kitchens, dining/assembly rooms, restrooms with hot showers, activity areas and swimming facilities (except Unicoi). Linens are not provided. Minimum occupancy is two nights, and a deposit is required. Cancellations must be made at least six months in advance and will be assessed a $50 cancellation fee. Note: Group Camps are not reservable online. To reserve, please call 1-800-864-7275.
Pioneer Campsite: Primitive, rugged site for groups only. 10 person minimum. Site is located by itself. No water or electricity. No shower facilities available. Has access to Day Use restrooms & adjacent Picnic Shelter. $25 flat fee for up to 15 people, $2 per person over 15, up to a maximum of 30 people.
Cottages Info
Two bedroom cottage, sleeps 8. One full bath. Each bedroom has two double beds. Bed and bath linens are provided. Fireplace (gas logs), heat/AC. TV with DVD player, and Satellite with Direct TV available. No phone. Screened porch overlooking the lake. Fully equipped kitchen includes: Microwave, stove/oven, coffee maker, pots/pans, dishes, cups/gasses, and refrigerator.

Accessible Cottage: Two bedroom cottage, sleeps 6. One full bath. One bedroom has two double beds, and one bedroom has a king. Bed and bath linens are provided. Fully equipped kitchen includes microwave and coffee maker. Iron board and iron. Fireplace (gas logs), heat/ac. 27 inch TV and Direct TV satellite. No phone. Screened porch. Overlooks lake. ADA accessible.
Picnic Shelters
Open-sided covered shelter. Shelter is next to paddle boats, playground, and swimming pool. Has water, electricity, and grill. All visitors are required to have a park pass.
Referred to as the BBQ Shelter. BBQ Area has 4 large racks for BBQ. Area includes 14 picnic tables, grills, water and electricity. Two open-sided covered shelters--one with 2 picnic tables and one with 4 picnic tables. All visitors are required to have a parkpass.
Group Shelter
End shelter. Located near office. Has heat/AC, sink, tables and chairs, commerical stove and refrigerator, restroom, large BBQ grill outside and playground.
Operating Hours & Seasons
The park grounds are open every day of the year from 8 am until 5 pm EST, allowing access to both the historic prison site and Andersonville National Cemetery.

The National Prisoner of War Museum, which also serves as the park's visitor center, opens at 8:30 am and closes at 5 pm. It is open every day of the week year-round, with three exceptions. The building is closed and no visitor services are provided on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. However, the park grounds, including the historic prison site and the National Cemetery, are still open and accessible on these days.

Driving Directions: Located 2 miles north of I-20 off Exit #148 (Hwy. 22). Turn right at the junction of Hwy 22 and Hwy 278. Turn left at the traffic light. Go 2 blocks, turn left, then make an immediate right. Follow signs to park office. If RV is taller than 12' 10", exit at #148 travel 2 miles and go across junction of Hwy 22 and Hwy 278. Turn right onto MLK, Jr. Dr. NW. Go 1 mile , turn left onto Alexander Street. Follow signs to park office.
Reservations Cancellation Policy
Cancellation of a reservation must be made at least 3 days prior to the date of arrival in order to receive a refund. A $10 cancellation/handling fee per reservation will be charged. Changes in arrival date made less than 3 days prior to the scheduled arrival will constitute a cancellation and forfeit of the deposit. 7-14 day Cottage Reservation Guidelines: All cancellations received 30 days in advance will receive deposit refund minus the $10 cancellation fee per facility.

If a customer requests to cancel less then 30 days in advance but before 72 hours of arrival, the customer may request refund in witting to the site. If cottage is rebooked for the time period originally reserved, site will have Customer Service issue a full refund to the customer minus $10 cancellation fee. If reservation is cancelled within 72 hours of arrival date no refund of the one night deposit will be given. Deposits are required for all reservations. Credit card deposits are posted when the reservation is made.

Check-in - Check-in is between 1 pm and 10 pm and check-out is before 1 pm. Campers must register and present a reservation confirmation before setting up. If you do not arrive on the first night of your stay, you will be counted as a no-show, your reservation will be cancelled, and you will forfeit your deposit.

Reservation Changes (Changes in arrival dates, transfers, etc.)
You may make one change without a charge, provided a 3-day notice is given. Additional changes will incur a $10 per reservation handling fee.
